a few weeks ago we had a shoot at sara sara cupcakes near downtown OKC. if you haven't been there, it is one of the most adorable businesses in the downtown area, and their cupcakes aren't half bad either ;-) (okay, actually they're FABULOUS!).
angie brought mia and elly down for a few quick shots while we were there - i wanted something fun and vibrant that would stand out in the midst of all of the ultra modern decor inside the cupcake palace itself. these are just a few quick images i prepped, but i think she hit the mark!

we're having a wonderful time this winter (which is feeling strangely like spring, and i LOVE it) photographing a beautiful hodgepodge of sessions - seniors, families, children, babies, and even a few maternity in there! we're getting ready to launch our new babies and kids line here in the next few weeks, so stay tuned to see what we've put together - it's going to be incredible!
have a happy friday all!

you can just imagine the look of pure glee on my face when these 3 little 'american girl' doppelgangers walked in the door. and i can answer your question before you ask - YES, they were Every bit as sweet (and sassy!) as they look.
Elle, Evan and Emmy are HUGE daddy's girls. and dad is Enormously proud of them (who wouldn't be?).
(crawling right into my heart :-)
(official princess-in-training)
(ohmygoshthispictureissoadorableicantstandit)
emmy (an actual angel-in-disguise, though not very well disguised i must say :-) had just recently turned 1. happy birthday emmy!
i love this image. it's such a sweet little peek into the relationship between sisters. the older one taking the lead, and the younger one following along. little girls that look up to their sisters like this just make my heart swell. of course, it can also make me giggle uncontrollably when the older one gets a wee bit 'tired' of having her own little shadow, but i digress...
and this sums it all up. emmy is done. :-)

i can't believe i waited so long to share these images. jorja has got to be one of THE cutest people on earth. before i met her, paivy had described her as a 'precious moments doll' (do they make dolls?), and i have to completely agree.
(how can anyone be this cute??)
i thought it would be super cute to put some sunglasses on jorja and sass it up for a bit. however, neither jorja nor her mom had sunglasses on them to play with. never fear - paivy to the rescue! apparently paivy has this sunglasses 'fetish' of sorts (more like a compulsive obsession). it's rumored she owns several hundred pair, but i haven't dared try and confirm this (i'm afraid i might get lost in the abyss of shades). so once the sunglasses were mentioned, paivy hopped outside for a moment and came back in with an ARMLOAD of sunglasses from her car to choose from. i have a lot of quick wit anecdotes surrounding this visual image here, but i'll save that for a future blog. :-)
jorja's mom, julie, is just as cute as jorja (they look just alike!). and i am completely head over heels about her. she let us play with jorja's hair, giggle, jump on the furniture, and all sorts of things that we like to do (but don't often get to in the real world). i am a HUGE believer in letting kids be kids, and capturing just who they are - playful spirit and all. julie was 150% in tune with us, and as a result jorja's images were very reflective of her sweet and playful spirit.
jorja decided that she wanted to come and work with us when she grows up too. i think that would be a fanTABULOUS idea. :-)
thanks for coming to play with us jorja! we can't wait til next time. :-)

goodness, we have about 85 gatrillion images we can post here (isn't that a cute word? i totally think it should be a word). and i'm not even sure where to start. we're going to try and post more session images going forward, but i'll try and spotlight a few of my favorites from the past year in the meantime (intermingled, of course, with my vast tidbits of wisdom and humor :-).
so meet the amy family. brian amy is one of the 'fab five' at orthodontic associates. i'm quite smitten with these guys as they seem to enjoy their careers - and life - as much as i do. they have 2 offices in the metro area - okc (by lake hefner) and edmond (right by me!! woo hoo!). and i think they're the coolest peeps on the planet.
so last year brian bought his beautiful wife staci a gift certificate for mother's day (which of course means he's the world's #1 husband too i presume!). staci was very excited for the session and we discussed wardrobe on a few occasions, coming up with these fun combinations in the process.
(i love this image - it is the perfect representation of the relationship between a firstborn and his younger brother. connor is loving and protective, and jake is making me wonder what he's up to...)
i have to tell you - we had an absolute BLAST with the session. the boys were perfect (in a playful, ornery, hilarious sort of way) and brian and staci were cracking...me...up. turns out this is quite the norm with these two. :-)
(no innocent bystanders were hurt during the making of this image...)
so as you can see, we had just a wee bit of fun during the session. :-)
(yeah, i'm cool. that's right. the bomb diggity)
so now you have a little bit of a peek into the lives of one of my favorite families. and i might add, dr. amy is a pretty good orthodontist too. :-) if you're in the need for orthodontic care anytime in the next millenium, you need to stop by and see the guys at orthodontic associates. you won't be disappointed! they're pretty darn fun. :-)
(i was TOTALLY going to post a very hiLARIOUS image of brian and staci on here, but in the words of staci (i told you i was going to steal this!) i thought one of them might 'sprout a pumpkin' if i did so. but i can't guarantee it won't show up floating around the studio somewhere...). :-)
