is summer over?!? i mean, REALLY? these past few months have been one big blur in our lives, and i know for many of you it has been the same. we went from the craziness of june (fun family vacations and activities, the start of senior portraits (YAY!), the fun of playing in the pool, summer fashion, etc.), to the heat of july (WHEW!) and then flew into august, which seems to have disappeared somewhere (if you've seen it, please let me know - i think i left something back there...). riley started first grade on august 14th (i mean, REALLY? august FOURTEENTH?), and has been in little people heaven since then enjoying hanging with her friends (and sometimes she even mentions they do other things in school - that's my girl!). reagan and reese, on the other hand, just started 'school' yesterday - and can i say YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! they have been BUGGING us relentlessly since AUGUST FOURTEENTH to go to school. as if WE were the ones keeping them from it (really? trust me - if they had started everyone back in july i might have taken them up on it...).
so begins the new routines of the school year for everyone. seems getting back into your groove always takes a bit of getting used to - school schedules, activities, working, and everything else that runs into our daily lives has to get 'back on track.' which makes me wonder when all of these things got 'off track.' we've been as busy as humanly possible this whole summer, and have LOVED every minute of it. i SO love getting to know all of the new seniors each year, and keeping in touch with them as they graduate and head off to college is just as fun (yes, i cry when they graduate too - i'm somewhat of a dramatic person as you know by now). the personalities of everyone are so diverse and exciting - and i love seeing how they all come together to make each one of them an individual. :-)
many of you have been asking me about our 'lifeforce' plan that jim and i are on, and i'm glad! to answer your first questions - yes, we are STILL on it (i've tried to quit many times but my guilt quotient keeps kicking my butt). we are currently in week 6 (of 16 weeks total - yes i KNOW - over halfway to go...), and are doing fabulous. we still can't eat anything YUMMY yet, but we're feeling super healthy and jim is almost at his goal weight (i am actually at mine, but am still going for health and motivational purposes. or because my friend jed is almost done and if he can do it then i just CAN'T quit). so - if you are interested in doing it and need someone to help you with accountability, then shoot me an email or text and i'll help you through! because you NEED someone next to you when you just want to eat that HUGE bowl of pasta from Bravo that you love..... :-)
